It takes many small steps to reach a destination, especially one that is a long distance away. Despite the fact the Fitcamp is just beginning, we were able to raise $150 to the Lakewood Christian Service Center and do a small part in a long journey to fight local poverty.

Our week of sweat and early mornings was not in vain. Having dedicated the entire week of December 15, 2008 to raising money and goods for LCSC was well worth the smile on the faces of the LCSC volunteers.  Although my goal was to have the money to them before Christmas, they were quite excited that it came in early January.  It just goes to show that any time is a good time for giving!

To each Fitcamper who had the tenacity to stay with us that last week before winter break, bring a friend or make a donation, I warmly thank you for your efforts. You have helped local needy families while helping  improve your fitness!

My hope is that in our August fundraiser we’ll raise $500 for LCSC. (If you haven’t seen the 2009 calendar, check it out.) We’ll dedicate three weeks of Fitcamp to raising money for LCSC.  50% of our sales will go to LCSC.

Do you want to help relieve the heavy burdens that befall poverty-stricken families? Joining our Fitcamp adult classes will give you a chance to earn money for yourself and raise money for TWO worthy causes via the Fitcamp Referral Program.   See how you can help, because you will be able to not only lose fat, gain strength and better health, but also help a friend and give to two excellent causes!  Post a comment and I’ll get back to you.
